Superior uptime for high-speed applications
The new Videojet® 1620 small character continuous ink jet printer from Videojet Technologies provides superior uptime in high-speed applications, enabling greater customer productivity. The Videojet 1620 printer is the third release in the Videojet 1000 Series of ink jet printers and can print up to five lines of high-resolution print and speeds of up to 293 metres per minute.
The Videojet 1620 is designed for printing codes up to 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. With around-the-clock coding and extended run time before needed maintenance, the Videojet 1620 is the perfect solution for high-speed, large-output production lines, such as those in the beverage, canning and food industries.
The Videojet 1620 features a new clean flow printhead design that provides maximum uptime. By reducing ink build up that can cause traditional ink jet printers to shut down, the clean flow printhead delivers less maintenance and longer runs without intervention.
The printer includes IP65 wash down and dust protection that provides superior environmental protection with no plant air required. Additionally, the vapour recovery system on the Videojet 1620 reduces solvent consumption and allows for longer runs before fluid change.
Reduced costs, maintenance
Like the other printers within the 1000 Series, the Videojet 1620 includes the exclusive Smart Cartridge fluid system. By reading the embedded microchip, the printer identifies whether the correct fluid has been installed. This prevents errors in ink types or swapping make-up and ink fluids. Saving time and money, the Smart Cartridge fluid system is designed to drain completely, wasting no residual fluids. The needle-and-septum design eliminates the need for operators to pour ink, preventing fluid spillage and waste.
The integrated core consolidates the printer's key ink system components into one part and requires preventive maintenance only every 14,000 hours, or approximately 18 months, for heavy-duty applications. Core replacement is simple and mess-free and is designed to be customer-replaceable without necessarily requiring a visit from a trained technician. A countdown meter offers easy monitoring of time remaining before the core must be changed.
The Videojet 1620 is easier to integrate into existing systems with advanced connectivity options, including its USB port, which allows for hot swapping print jobs and backing up messages. The convenience of off-site control and diagnostics via Ethernet capability through CLARiSOFT and CLARiNET software enables simple, seamless real-time message changes. Troubleshooting is a simple matter of pressing a button on the operator interface; a pop-up window assists the operator in assessing the issue and resolving it.
