VIDEOJET RECEIVES RECERTIFICATION AS SONY GREEN PARTNER

Videojet Technologies Inc. has received recertification as a Sony Green Partner, acknowledging that Videojet has successfully established an environmental management system that meets the requirements of the Sony Green Partner Program. To receive the certification, Videojet provided Sony with data on its company functions, including corporate policy, quality control, operations, product development and procurement. This information enabled Videojet to demonstrate how its operations ensure the products it supplies to Sony meet its requirements for environmental management. Videojet's certification is valid through April 2011.

Beginning in April 2003, Sony determined it would procure parts and materials solely from suppliers that qualified as Green Partners. The Green Partner Program requires suppliers to reduce or eliminate specified environment-related substances, such as certain chemical substances.

“Meeting our customers' requirements is not only about what we do, but also about what we don't do — for example, not using certain chemical substances in our products,” says John Folkers, chief technology officer for Videojet. “Videojet is proud to maintain this certification as a Sony Green Partner, and we are continually striving to improve our products and services to meet and exceed our customers' expectations.”

Videojet supplies Sony with ink and make-up fluids that are used in printers to mark variable data, such as unique identification codes, onto parts that are then placed into Sony's supply chain and used within various products.
