Videojet introduces all-new 1000 series inkjet printers

The all-new Videojet 1000 series of small character inkjet printers provide even more uptime than the previous models, enabling greater customer productivity.

The new Videojet 1220, 1520 and 1620 small character inkjet printers are the latest additions to the 1000 series of small character inkjet printers, offering a number of improvements on the company’s highly popular 1210, 1510 and 1610 models. The printers are designed to address a wide range of applications across a variety of vertical markets, and are fully compatible with Videojet’s previous models.

The Videojet "20" series is engineered for uninterrupted runs, keeping your production line up and running longer. The printer range is so advanced, they automate set up and cleaning, and so well designed, that they make maintenance easier then ever.

"The original 1000 series printers were a revolution. Our unique integrated core design and the Clean Flow printhead significantly reduce maintenance time and cost," says Tom Hawkins, Product Manager for Videojet UK. "Now this has been taken to the next level with the all-new 1000 series printers, delivering even better uptime, lower cost of ownership and greater intervals between scheduled maintenance."

The Clean Flow printhead design is now available in the 1520 and 1620 models, providing maximum uptime. By reducing ink build up that can cause traditional ink jet printers to shut down, this unique printhead requires less cleaning and enables longer runs without intervention.

The extended range provides even more uptime with substantially increased core life, enabling greater customer productivity. The integrated core consolidates the key ink components into a single part, meaning core replacement is simple and mess free. The 1620 core life is 14,000 hours, the 1520 is 12,000 hours and the 1220 delivers up to 9,000 hours before required preventative maintenance.

The printers use the exclusive Smart Cartridge™ fluid system featured on all printers in the Videojet 1000 Series range. By reading the embedded microchip, the printer identifies whether compatible fluid has been installed to prevent errors in ink types or switching make-up and ink fluids. Saving time and money, the Smart Cartridge™ fluid system is designed to drain completely, wasting no left over fluids. The needle–and–septum design eliminates the need for operators to pour ink, preventing fluid spillage and waste.

The all-new 1000 series printers are available from October 2011. Other models in the 1000 series range include the 1610 Dual Head inkjet printer, and the 1710 High Contrast inkjet printer.
