Videojet continues to support "Green" initiative

LAUNCH OF THE NEW 1000 SERIES “GREEN” INK

Videojet Green environmentally friendly initiative

Following the success of Videojet's 1000 series launch in September 2008, the medium and low use printers (1510 and 1210) have been well received. The next in the series to be launched is the 1610 high use printer due out later this year.

Videojet have a commitment to helping their customers achieve their sustainability goals, including the development of new, environmentally friendly inks. This latest ink was designed specifically for customers who have established environmental sustainability objectives with a particular focus around reducing their use of certain solvents, such as methyl ethyl ketone (MEK).

Foods Companies are increasingly looking for ways to reduce their use of certain solvents. This is an opportunity for Videojet to be proactive in helping to accomplish this objective, while having immediate impact.

Many other industries have increased their focus on “green” initiatives, for example, certain customers are adopting voluntary standards established by CEPE (European Council of producers and importers of paints, printing inks and artists' colours) in their “green” planning.

The 1000 Series “Green” ink will provide code durability to rival a number of popular “MEK” inks, while importantly achieving the high 1000 Series uptime performance standards. It meets industry and corporate “green” environmental standards and objectives of being Ketone and Methanol-free, whilst complying with CEPE and Japan voluntary exclusion lists. Ink-substrate performance matches several MEK-based inks on a variety of materials, and the adhesion and contrast performance will equal or better this. There is no system performance trade-off for "going green” and the customers will retain the superior quality of their codes as it meets the Videojet benchmark uptime specifications - across full printer operating temperature range (4-45 °C)

Suitable applications include; food and frozen food containers, cans, cartons, pouches, bottles, etc., comprising of LDPE, HDPE, polypropylene, polystyrene, PVC, ABS, polycarbonate, stainless steel, tin plate, aluminium, and glass substrates.

Videojet will continue to meet their customer's needs with several other new, high-performance inks soon to be launched.
